Newborn and Big Sister | Baltimore Newborn Photographer

There’s nothing as sweet as a big sister and her new baby. Watching their wondrous eyes as they try to figure out what this baby is all about…and learning that it is not a baby doll, and it’s here to stay.  I had the pleasure of meeting 21 month old Ella, and her new baby brother Austin recently. Ella was full of spunk and was so sweet around Austin.

During all my newborn sessions I always prepare the parents that the baby will surely make a mess on my backdrops, and not to worry that everything is washable! My little man Austin here decided he would make that statement true, can you see what doesn’t belong in this photo?:)

Little man Austin was truly one of the most laid back babies I have ever photographed! Whether awake or sleeping he just hung out and let us do our thing. This is definitely up there for one of my favorite sessions so far in 2012.

Aww, you got some amazing awake images of the little guy, pee and all!
Also have to commend you on the ones with big sis. My 2nd grandson was just born about 1.5 months ago, and there was NO way his big brother could have been included (i.e. cooperated). He is 26 months old and would not have sat still for 2 seconds!

Newborn Triplet Girls | {Bowie Maryland Newborn Photographer}

I had the pleasure of meeting Danielle and Jason in September for their maternity session, and had a lot of fun getting to know them. Our session was earlier than I recommend most maternity sessions because Danielle was pregnant with TRIPLET girls! I loved keeping in touch with her and her progress and then finding out her girls were born healthy, but early, in December. I cannot tell you how excited I was when I got the email from Danielle to tell me that the last triplet was coming home from the hospital, and her newborn session was scheduled. I always use my assistant, Lynnea, for newborn sessions, but this time I also recruited a friend of mine to be a second assistant and an extra set of hands so Danielle and Jason could take the time to relax during our session. I cannot wait to see Ava, Leah, and Guliana again once they are sitting up for their next session, and then once again for their first birthday!

Spring/Easter mini sessions are here! With BABY CHICKS {Maryland Child Photographer}

Spring has not yet sprung, but it’s just around the corner!! This year’s mini sessions will be held on March 3rd and 4th from 10am-6pm in the Bowie, MD studio and will last 20-30 minutes. Each session is priced at a discounted rate of only $100 and includes a high resolution CD of all your custom edited portraits (10-15 images), along with the rights to print these photographs. A $50 retainer is required in advance to reserve your spot, and is non-refundable. The remaining amount is due no later than two weeks prior to the session. Because of time limitations it is recommended if you have more than 2 children you book two sessions back to back. These sessions are limited to immediate family only.

These sessions didn’t last long last year, don’t delay in reserving your session!

Need a gift idea? Mother’s day will be here before you know it! Mini albums will again be selling at a discounted price for pre-order only for these sessions, as well as discounts on boutique Easter cards.

To reserve your session visit the store HERE

The “it” photo! {Annapolis MD Family Photographer}

When I do a photo session I’m always wondering what that ‘it’ photo will be. The photo that the second you see it, you know it needs to be displayed large on a wall! My favorite ‘it’ photos are ones where the family is interacting, and they aren’t forced to be in poses they feel awkward in, or out of place. One of my favorite family photos of all time is of a fabulous family I captured this summer, pictured below. They weren’t dressed in brand new expensive clothes, they weren’t posed unnaturally, they weren’t even all smiling…but those are all things that I love about the picture. It’s real! This picture tells about their life, their style, their personality, and their moment. When they look back at this picture 20 years from now, they will remember what fun they had driving around in that car and being together as a family. Each person who looks back at that photo will probably have a different memory come to mind, and that is what it’s all about!
