When a new baby arrives it is so exciting for big brothers and sisters, but can be a little intimidating. They are so full of curiosity, and have so many questions. Capturing this special time is important, and wonderful.
Depending on the age of the big brothers and sisters will depend on what poses we will try to capture with the baby and siblings. Siblings less than 3 years old typically aren't able to hold the baby enough to support them so we put the baby in a prop, or lay everyone on the floor. Siblings older than 3 often can hold the baby in their lap and try a few other poses if they are able to take direction. As with any other part of the newborn session, the safety and comfort of the baby are the top priority so we will be extra cautious to make sure big brothers and sisters don't accidentally hurt the baby, and ensure baby is well supported.
The studio does stock dresses in neutral colors for girls up to 8 years old that photograph beautifully for those who would like to use them.
What are the benefits of coming to our studio vs in home?
It's true, a good photographer can create amazing images anywhere. However, having your newborn captured at a specially designed newborn photography studio vs in your home has many advantages. A studio environment has everything you can ever desire to create a perfect session. The ideal lighting, a warm room with white noise, access to all of the studio props, accessories and blankets, and custom designed setups and backdrops that cannot be recreated.
By coming to a studio you don't have the stress of someone coming to your home, which may not be as clean as you'd like when guests arrive since you've just had a baby. By coming to the studio you are forced to sit back and truly relax and enjoy the session rather than feeling the need to get things done around the house.
If an at home session is the only option for your family, or you'd like more of a lifestyle approach to your newborn session, an at home session can absolutely be arranged.
